Privacy Policy
This policy is for Before The Fire Kit and ClaimReady Vault, operated by Bowman Web Services LLC (“we,” “us”). It covers beforefirekit.com, app.beforethestormkit.com, and related emails and forms. It is a disclosure of our practices, not legal advice.
Who we are

What we collect
You give us: email and optional household type on the free checklist form; name, email, and message on the contact form; payment name, email, phone, and card details on Square checkout (Square collects the card — we do not store full card numbers).
The vault stores on your device: inventory rows, room photos you upload, serials / VINs / tags you type, claim-log notes, and a paid or preview flag. That data lives in browser localStorage on that device. We do not currently operate a user-account server that holds your photos or inventory.
Automatic: standard server and analytics data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and ad-click identifiers when you arrive from an ad. We use Google Tag Manager (GTM-N8K6LJ2X), which may load Google Analytics or advertising tags.
How we use it
To send the checklist and product notes you asked for; to answer support and refund requests; to process the $39 payment through Square; to understand whether ads and pages work; and to operate and secure the sites. We do not sell personal information.
Who else sees it
Processors that help us run the product: Square (payments and receipts); Netlify (hosting and form submissions); Google (Tag Manager / possible ads and analytics); Fastmail (email); and advertising platforms you came from (for example X, Meta, or Google Ads) if a tag or click identifier is present.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the service against abuse.
Photos and inventory
Room photos and item lists stay in your browser unless you export them (CSV) or send them to us yourself. Clearing cookies, using another phone, or filling the browser storage quota can delete that copy. Export the CSV if you want a backup. We cannot restore a vault we never received.
Cookies and ads
The marketing site uses cookies and similar tags through Google Tag Manager so we can measure visits and paid campaigns. The app may set localStorage for vault state. Browser controls can block some cookies; the vault will not work without localStorage.
How long we keep it
Checklist and contact form submissions stay in our Netlify / email inbox long enough to fulfill the request and keep a basic record of support and refunds. Square keeps payment records under Square’s policy. Vault data on your device stays until you clear it. We do not currently run a Policy Peek file locker; if that product launches, we will update this page before we accept policy PDFs.
Your choices
Unsubscribe using the link in an email, or email hello@beforefirekit.com and ask us to stop marketing mail. Ask us what we hold in our inbox or forms about you, and ask us to delete that copy. We cannot delete Square’s merchant records or data that exists only on your device — you delete that by clearing the site data or exporting and then removing items in the app.
If a state privacy law gives you additional rights and applies to this small business, email us and we will handle the request in good faith.
Children
The product is for adult homeowners and renters. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We will post updates on this page and change the date above. Continued use after a posted change means the new policy applies to later use.
